Project Description |
Single mid-aged lady in south Denison has a problem with one of the windows in her mobile home sweating (condensation) in the winter, getting the wall and floor wet underneath it and causing mildew. The window is an old single-pane design, aluminum frame. She needs a double-pane insulated window installed instead. It is 30” by 53”, but might be able to use a slightly larger size. She would also like to move the front door over in place of this existing front porch window, and put the window where the existing front door is, to gain more floor space in the home. Should not be difficult to cut and frame the door opening in place of the window, but this would require reducing the existing door opening (to install the window), and some trim work and painting. It would be best to purchase a pre-hung exterior door and hardware instead of re-using the existing door. She does not currently have the funds to purchase the window or replacement door, so might need some help with the materials purchase. (She purchased 3 other windows and paid to have them installed, due to condensation and mildew problems. Used up her reserve funds.) |
